The next questions is focused on how many days you want the meal plan to cover. Most people are happy with getting a plan for 5 days (average work week) and then taking the time to cook meals on their weekend, but there is a 7 day per week plan available.

Finally, you will be asked if you want 3 meals (breakfast included) per day, or if you want only 2 meals. I find this option to be very helpful since I prepare and drink a meal replacement breakfast shake every day.

Surprisingly, there aren’t many home delivery diet programs out there. There are a few, but when I started researching this post I honestly expected there to be hundreds due to the busy nature of the world we live in today.

Cost In General

I did this because I think this is a very important and separate factor to consider.

I am working under the assumption that if you have the time to prepare your own meals at home, then you probably are not still reading this post, but if that isn’t the case then thank you for reading this far!

If you have the time to do so, preparing your own healthy meals at home is by far the better option for cost and freshness. Many studies have shown that you can create a well-balanced, nutritional meal for approximately $4 per day with current market prices.

For those of us who don’t always have the extra 30 minutes to an hour it takes to prepare a healthy meal 3 times a day, our options are pretty limited.

You can choose to get something from a fast food or sit down restaurant, and consume food that is very unhealthy for you.       It’s true that the best piece of advice that anyone can give or receive regarding our health is how to eat a proper diet.

      Did you know that even with minimal to no exercise, a person can maintain a healthy weight and even lose major amounts of weight and keep it off forever just by eating a well balanced diet? This is a fact, but it is also true that sticking with a strict meal program is one of the hardest things that we face every day.

  8. Nothing can be compared to preparing your own healthy meals at home, in this case you are totally in control of what you are eating. Taste and freshness are also guaranteed.
    However, as you rightly mentioned, due to the busy schedule of many people, the alternatives left are either the fast food where you can consume food that is very unhealthy or buy from Meal Delivery Program which is more reputable for supplying healthy food. Diet to go is well ahead of others in this category as per your analysis.

      I haven’t done the research on it, but I would imagine that if a service like this was currently unavailable in your country, it is only a matter of time before one gets started. Or better yet, a forward thinking entrepreneur might see a good opportunity here.

      I decided to draft the site name based on my love/hate relationship with doughnuts. It is really amazing how much extra fat and sugar you can cut out of your diet by just choosing a healthy meal for breakfast over any type of fast food. For me breakfast has always been the hardest meal.

      At 5-7 meals per day, you could definitely benefit from some sort of meal delivery program. You must be spending some serious time in the kitchen!
